Excuse me, bamatt,

Could you explain the guy blinking, then raising their arms and sticking out their tounge in your sig? I like it, but does it have some hidden meaning?

i was going to have the same question:roll: Probably explains a lot:grin:

PGT Jan 23, 2007 12:50 PM

not sure either, but it <gasp> violates the site's guidelines:
SIGNATURES
A maximum of 300 characters OR an image with dimensions of 500 pixels wide by 100 pixels and filesize of 45KB or less is allowed.

Not that I care, except for the permanent 'infraction' I got from a moderator for the same vile transgression

You didn't get an infraction, you got a warning. 0 points and a "yellow card" instead of 25 points and a "red card". Stick to the facts, Dan.

You got the same warning as anyone else whose signature was reported as being out of the guidelines. And someone did report your post... so...

And now you've effectively "reported" Bamatt, only in a public way, so I guess I'll say this publicly:

Bamatt, please reduce the size of your signature graphic - 500x100 max... yours is 578x100.

Nope. He just cracks me up in a irritatingly funny sort of way  .

Thanks a lot Pentagon GT  I greatly appreciate your public outing for my slightly exaggerated width. I will get right on fixing that error when I get home

It says 'infraction' to me. Call it whatever you want, it's petty. As I said previously, a simple PM would have been enough, but now I have this 'warning' or 'infraction' staring back at me for perpetuity.

trolling my posts Haemish? I was making a joke...lighten up! :)

Yes, it's all part of the "infraction system", but the two are not the same, because there's no permanent impact on your status here, provided you respond to the warning (which you did). 0 points is 0 points.

Don't give yourself too much credit, I was reading the thread anyway (the title intrigued me).

I should probably add: Dan, your signature is 106 pixels tall...

Need a tissue?

This whole signature thing is probably going to be taken care of permanently soon anyway. Electronic enforcement... one signature banner only (so if you want two, you'll have to combine them into one file). And the electronic enforcement will simply not allow signature banners that exceed the size or disk space limits.

Quite honestly, I look forward to that implementation because I'm tired of dealing with the matter.

Just a matter of setting "Allow [IMG] code" to "No" so everyone has to use the "Upload Signature Picture" feature.

This, along with limiting the number of lines, was done on MINI2 in the last quarter of 2006.

Less work for Mods

oldtrojan66 Jan 23, 2007 01:58 PM

Whoooooeeeee!!! I think it must be the time of the year (or the time of the month!?) Lots of negative vibes in this thread. Please, everyone, remember what fun it is to be mini owners!? I know, laughing at the "old trojan" for wanting everyone to shake hands and be friends! Love conquers all!!! david

Exactly! I didn't explain "how" though, because most people don't care how, just what the changes will be.

YEP! Can't wait! No fuss, no muss, and most importantly, no grudges or arguing about it.

Grumpee Jan 23, 2007 03:51 PM

WTF Enough with the sig crap, yea I know I'm a dumb F***, I don't have enough post to be an a$$.

vuanguyen, If you want a GP this late in the game you may have to pay a premium. Motor City MINI in Michigan MSRP and you said $1,100. to ship it. At this point that may be the DEAL. Good Luck

1322, your post borders on breaking the NAM Site Guidelines. Keep it polite, please. From time to time, threads can and will stray off topic somewhat. Accept that it will happen sometimes and move on. It's back on topic now so relax.

And for the record, it doesn't matter how many posts you have, the guidelines still apply.

It's also flipping the bird with both hands, but I guess no one has noticed that.
Back to your regularly scheduled thread...

Yucca Patrol Jan 23, 2007 05:39 PM

Edge. . . can you or any other moderator clarify if the 300 character count for signatures includes spaces as counted characters?

Your sig has 328 characters if spaces are counted, but you only have 271 if spaces don't count. . .

Sorry. . just being silly and having fun in this bizarre thread. . .

Spaces are not included. Believe me, I've hit the limit a number of times, and had to futz with my signature to keep it back below 300. (vBulletin will NOT let you use more than 300, it gives a nice error when you go to save the sig)

And yes, I've used Word to do the count in the exact same way!

Grumpee Jan 23, 2007 06:00 PM

Edge,
I know I'm on the border, BUT DO YOUR JOB the guy made a post about a GP and that don't have $***T to do with sig size you seem to keep the crap going . SO BAN ME NOW, that will give me bragging rights.

Yup, I'm not about to go counting characters myself. I'm not even sure I can count that high anyway.

You need to get back into the signature editor and figure out a way to use those extra unused characters.

Ok I have shrunk my signature to the point that it now looks like crap but at least it now meets guidelines. My little man is not flipping the bird. He is a stick man & he only has 3 fingers. He is waving his hands in the air & sticking out his tongue like you would when you scare someone (& go boo). Anybody else have anything they wanna deconstruct/complain/rag about on my signature? If so please feel free to further reprimand me

Christian MD Jan 23, 2007 06:17 PM

LOL, I don't think Alabama signatures should be allowed also !!!

I am doing my job just fine. You have some nerve, and you won't have anyone (here anyway) to brag to before long.

Yes, I don't think the stick man is big enough. (I've always loved that little character ever since I first saw your sig) Maybe if you ditch the Alabama Crimson Tide part and enlarge the little stick man in it's place?

Bamatt - I was admiring your siggie tonight thinking... gee... that's a lovely siggie... I wish I could have something that nice...

Now all of you negativo mongrels crawl back into your caves!!!

Yucca Patrol Jan 23, 2007 06:48 PM

Yeah, I think her siggie is one of the best around.

PGT Jan 23, 2007 06:48 PM

is it negative to point out to someone the sig's larger than allowed so as to save a mod from having to do it? I meant it tongue in cheek and it spun wildly out of control, even geting a dedicated thread! w00t!
