Vendor's Overcharging
 

Ok ok after reading a few of the vendors posts and also some of the vendors charging extremely high prices on products they sell and when you get them and they aren't the quality they are suppose to be!

mmm granted not black and not cut to fit... but much cheap than "rear seat delete kit"

Try Home Depot for a sheet of plywood. Cut to fit and cover with some black all-weather astroturf. . .

That's what I did for a similar mod for the back of my Land Rover Defender (which came stock with no rear seats) to create a large platform for my gods and a cubby storage space. . .

I do a lot of shopping around before I buy anything and usually get stuff for a good price. . .

No vendor really overcharges. . . but some people over-pay!

So what? I think we pay a little over 3 bucks a pound for aluminum. I should be able to get atleast 3 pullies out of that, eh? :sly:

Josh, if you have an issue with a vendor, the appropriate thing to do is to PM them or contact them privately. To come online and complain like this really isn't fair to them.

If you feel you have been treated unfairly by a NAM vendor, by all means contact Mark Ferguson, mferguson@northamericanmotoring.com.

That is the proper and fair way to handle your situation.

Josh, did you buy the rear seat delete? Is that what you are talking about in this thread?

The kit looks like a nice kit for someone who is not incredibly handy or does not want to go through the trouble of tracking down materials and then making a template themselves to cut the plastic sheet. Many people would find that a kit that they could order for about $100 to be a good deal when they consider the time and effort it would take for them to build the same thing from scratch even if they could save a lot of money on the actual materials. If I tried to do this myself, I'd end up going to several different stores, probably having to make phone calls to find which plastics materials dealer sells what I am looking for, etc. Then I would probably botch my cutting job and have to go buy a second sheet of plastic, etc.. .

Add the cost of development, marketing, etc, and this kit is a very good deal. Sure it is a basic thing, but many people like being able to order it and be able to install in on a pleasant saturday afternoon. . . .

If you prefer to do it yourself, that is great and you can borrow the idea from whoever created the rear seat delete kit. But I'd be hesitant to complain about it if I was handy enough to do it myself but paid someone else to do all the hard work for me.

Not trying to criticize you here, but for these sorts of things I'd follow MINIclo's advice and take your complaint up with the vendor first. . .
