I agree that "virus" is not the proper term in that the system or browser probably has not been infected. NAM is either hosting an ad that has malware, or the NAM forum software itself is infected.

Still getting the amazon pop up on the mobile site using my phone. Didn’t happen for a few days, then twice this morning.

Just upgraded to a iPhone X yesterday. First website I went to was NAM. Within seconds, I was an Amazon winner. Haven't seen the the problem coming from any other sites but it has only been a day.

With the old Samsung Galaxy S4, I received a message that my Sim card would be corrupted in 17 seconds if I did not install some ap. This error has gone on since around the day this thread was started. This message only came when I accessed the NAM site.

I have not had a problem with another forum supported by the same group.

Let us know when this is fixed. Until then, I will limit my access to NAM to PC only, however, I wonder if even that is safe.

I've been trying the Puffin browser in my iPhone 8 for a couple of days now to view the NAM mobile site. So far, no pop ups. Using Safari, I get the Amazon pop up almost every time I go to the NAM mobile site after I log in and click on a thread. I seem to be able to use full site on Safari without a pop up. But full site on a phone is not easy to use. Maybe it's a Safari thing.

OK, there is not a virus but rather somebody put some stuff in the javascript that is causing the issues. The IB techies are working on it, it appears to have Google scratching their heads as well.

Putin must like cars that we Americans drive . . . .

It's not only NAM, happens on other sites as well (non auto related). Very annoying, can't back out of it (neither the back button or home button work). I have to shut down Chrome completely..

Puffin on iOS seems to work ok, though it's a clunky browser on the phone, better on the iPad. But I haven't gotten a pop up yet (knock on wood). Guess I don't need to bother trying Chrome.

A new pop up. Still very spammy and most likely phishing scheme. You can get around this on iOS by requesting “view desktop site”.

WnW, may as well send this one too. Was feeling lucky and tried the mobile site on iOS again and got a new, not closable pop-up.

When I was at the VA Friday I tried to access the site and the first thing I got was a red screen with the virus warning. Did a power down reset and gave up on checking the forum until I got home.
