He has zero posts and negative feedback (is that from you?) so I would be wary. To be fair I am always paranoid when I buy something privately online and I generally stress and wring my hands until I get a tracking number, it's just my nature.

How did you pay? If you used a credit card or PayPal, you're covered, anyway.

Good luck!

Disputing something on Paypal is extremely easy. Go to Paypal, open that transaction, then hit Open Dispute or Open Claim or something like that. I forget what it says exactly. As long as you didn't send the money as a "gift" you'll get your cash back or the the seller will ship the item...

Start here, I think:

+1 on never sending money as a gift if you don't know the person. It saves you a few bucks in fees, but you're screwed if something goes wrong.

To add to that .. he did reply for a bit after the sale even gone to say he was shipping out later that day. I asked for the tracking number, but no response since then. The PayPal account was supposedly his GF and I emailed that too asking for a response.

I called PayPal, got the case opened so he's got til the 12th.

I have to ask though if i'm not the only one with an issue, if this is a scheme then why go through PayPal when they can take that money back?

I'm not the most savvy, but I have bought some items in the past from members on NAM .. to include a set of wheels, it sucks to be burned.

No, you cannot "put him on blast". You file a claim through PayPal, and leave appropriate feedback for him.

my advise to everyone...make sure they have been on the site for at least a year, give or take, get their phone number, and make at least 1 phone call to make sure its valid. I have been buying parts for all my cars through forums and ebay for 15 years..never got burnt till now..

more advise

I'm in the process of trying to collect a claim from the Post Office for a lost shipment.
When corresponding with your buyer/seller spell out everything, like a contract. The PO wants proof of the deal. receipts on and on.
You will need the same info on dispute claims.
When shipping include a copy of this in the box
Take photographs of the box after you label it to show its condition( should be like new).
Print it out and tape the photo to the box.

Sorry to hear about your issue man. I wish there was more we in the community could do to help. To be honest, I've stopped selling things online for the most part after being burned several times on eBay.

That being said, I DID buy my Mini off a member of the forum here. Flew all the way from St. Louis to Dayton to pick it up. Couldn't be happier.

I just hate it when things like this happen. Douchebags commiting douchebaggery.
