what happened to the post i started yesterday about clubs and teams around boston!? it has vanished

chrisneal Dec 30, 2003 12:56 PM

Unfortunately, it has been moved to the "Under Review" section of the site:thread

Looks like someone posted to it who is a suspected previous banned member of the site.

bassalien Dec 30, 2003 01:05 PM

whoa!

Yucca Patrol Dec 30, 2003 01:18 PM

Bassalien,

Check out the New England regional forum to find out what local Boston MINI's are up to.

I went to school in the Boston area and know a bunch of people, but afraid I don't know of any specific good clubs to join. Some of my friends are really into playing squash and if you like racket sports, squash is really big up there.

My post pointing out the suspected banned member appearing here again was responsible for your thread disappearing. Sorry about that. I should have sent you a PM to let you know where it had gone

>>ahh well, thanks. i guess you can get rid of this post too then if you'd like. didn't know who to ask about my vanishing post so i started this thread. but now i know!

With a community of over 10,000, there will always be a few who want to ruin it for the honest posters that want to enjoy and share information with all others on the board. Please don’t be put off to your need of information about MINIs because of an individual that posted to your thread, then someone trying to discourage him.

The MINI community on NAM is a very giving and playful one. If you crave or need information about MINIs, you can find no better place.

So a big welcome to the board bassalien.

well i've enjoyed the board so far and appreciate the information i've received. thanks for the welcome sndwave.

WestCoastCoopers Dec 30, 2003 06:45 PM

Well you know what sndwave, that is very unfair of you to assume and accuse me of causing trouble, as stated in your response above.
I was the poster in "question"
This has been taken up with Mark, and I even spoke to Yucca about all of this.

PLEASE do not continue to perpuate that I am someone who you might think I may be, which has already caused me grief with the owner of this board.

I'm having a fantastic time despite a couple of bad assumptions.

sambusik Dec 30, 2003 08:32 PM

Why are you posting your sig pics through anonymizer.com then?

WestCoastCoopers Dec 30, 2003 09:22 PM

as I do all my Internet, and spoke to Mark about. The Internet is an UNSFAFE place for anyone with ANYTHING to lose. I suggest you use something similar.

I first learned of Internet Security through work, which also utilizes anonymous proxies.

It's not that I have something to hide, it's only another tool of protection.

I've already spoken to Mark about the whole thing and he knows my seucurity issues.

I am slowly finding that it seems the people who were banned really had quite an effect here, which again, is a good reason to protect yourselves.

bassalien Dec 30, 2003 10:21 PM

haha. and all i wanted to do was get some suggestions on a club or team to join or some kind of activity to do to keep me from being bored in my apartment! oops! talk about going off on a tangent!

WestCoastCoopers Dec 31, 2003 01:36 AM

Now one of My threads has been placed in Under Review without explaination.

what do I need to do to get out from under this assumed identity????????

I feel like I've personally done something wrong.

Am I the only one, out of an alleged 11,000 strong membership that is feeling this way?

I’m detecting a slight sense of guilt from you. I mentioned no names nor accused anyone. All I made was an observation.

Have a nice day.

Since you have only been here a couple of days, why not just create a new username and start over here with a clean slate?

As I told Mark, My sensitivity now is very acute regarding this. Which makes me feel like I've done something wrong.

I have adequately proven to Mark, jumped through hurdles basically, to be a participating member here.

I happen to like my user name and would rather find an alternative to creating a new one.
Again, it's seemingly obvious that the remarks are directed towards me, because of all the grief I have gotten thusfar. Threads and PM's.

I'm sorry if you think I'm some bad seed here. I'm not.

Now Please, Lay off.

On a topic note, I contacted with the moderator who was online at the time of my threads relocation and am waiting for a response as to why it was moved.
To everyone else who might get caught up in this sort of thing, contact Mark. he will take care of it.

Dude, I couldn't give a rat's ass about who you are... I'm just pointing out that obvious: that it looks like you're trying to hide something.

You're hosting an image on some image hosting site (which you can register for anonymously), and passing it through an anonymous proxy .. I'm a software/network engineer, and that makes no sense to me whatsoever.

WestCoastCoopers Dec 31, 2003 08:45 AM

Not really.

chrisneal Dec 31, 2003 08:55 AM

*settling in on the couch*

If I didn't hate the smell of microwaved popcorn so much, I'd pop me a bag. Guess this six pack of PBR will have to do. Hope they don't interrupt this show for **** Clark!

inioway Dec 31, 2003 09:02 AM

Kidnap! Kidnap! This thread has been kidnapped.

bassalien Dec 31, 2003 09:03 AM

oooh PBR. i haven't had that stuff in a while! now that's a fine beer right there!

Mark Dec 31, 2003 09:06 AM

I'll return the thread in question in a few minutes after it gets cleaned up.

In the future please posts threads like this in the Site Feedback forum so I can be sure to see them and be able to address them.

Thanks

Mark
