From the Pittstop club Here, and i am going to be out in Vegas , then going to LA, CA.
Anything going on with your club, i did not get to do anything last time.
I think i wll have a rental, not the MINI :(
I only saw one MINI last time.
And I could bum a ride from you guys to go to the Casino's when i don't have my rental,
MINI cab service??

Hi Mike. It will depend on actual dates when you're here. If we have any runs going, you're more than welcome to tag along (keep an eye on www.sincityminiclub.com) even if you don't have your MINI with you.
I've driven a number of out-of-town visitors down the Strip in my MINI, but as for the taxi service, you have to remember that just cause you're on vacation doesn't mean that we are. You may have to set up individual deals with members who might not be at work while you're here.

Just kidding about the taxi service, its just a problem out there with the taxis, they drive like crazy people and charge a arm and a leg.
I was just saying someone could make $$$ on this for the visiting MINI clubs.
I will be their May 27-june3 , Los angeles June 3-10. Thats what I hope, I will have a car from the 3rd on for myself, and the Grandview gives us rides back and forth. Are you guys staying at the NEW hooters complex??
Because the san remo is no more?
I saw one MINI out their and it was a girl driving with her purse dog on her Lap , It was a MCC Blue with 16" silver stars, Auto of course.

The whole time i was there last year for 2 weeks that all I saw and i walked the strip everyday from Mandaly Bay to Circus Circus.
Any inside tips Sin City MINI's?

That's pretty much true of taxis everywhere in my experience. Though the SCMC does have a member who is a cabbie and a hellofa nice guy. I don't think he uses the MINI as his cab though.
Why would we stay at the Hooters Casino? We all live here in houses or apartments. Locals generally avoid the Strip unless we have visitors in from out of town. The Hooter Casino is supposed to officially open either today or tomorrow I think. Not all employees will be actual Hooters girls.

As with any location, there are people buying MINIs "because it's cute" as well as the reasons we all bought them. My guess is that you saw one of those types of people. Though I saw MANY more MINIs on the road in LA than I see in Vegas in an equal timeframe. They are still fairly scarce here.

What kind of tips are you looking for? My tip for the best free show in town...Fremont Street Experience after dark. The whole street is paved and roofed with a giant tv. They play shows every hour after sunset. Some are great, some are merely pretty cool.

 

I was thinking the people meeting you out there , were going to stay at the san remo, or do they stay somewhere else?
Thanks for the tip, MINI are a rare sight, more Lambo and Ferr. out there then anything else. Which is sad.
I hope to see alot in LA.
Can't wait to go to Vegas, I love that city, every time i go back their is something new.
Any other new Hotels.
I will be at the south end, Grandview Resort.
I would like to meet up with some MINI people if i have a chance.
Do you guys go out to the LV raceway and drive on the track? Where do you AutoX?

The host hotel for AMVIV (the big annual event the SCMC hosts) is Palace Station. I haven't been in the San Remo since my 1st trip to Vegas in 1996. The official "grand opening" of the Hooters Casino is tonight. I don't think I know anyone who has actually stayed at the San Remo. I know ppl who've stayed at:
The Imperial Palace (old and looks old),
Harrahs (not bad),
The Rio (all suites and really nice),
Palace Station (nice enough - good value),
Sunset Station (nice),
The Lady Luck (old and looks it),
The Golden Nugget (4 diamond again, geat rooms),
The Plaza (pretty nice),
Aladdin (supposed to be very nice) which is in the middle of being rebranded as Planet Hollywood
Bellagio (supposed to be excellent)
MGM Grand (nice)
The Riviera (it's a room and a shower, what more do you need?)
A few others that slip my mind right now.

South of where you are staying is a brand new place, the South Coast. A "locals" casino so you'll get better odds than at the Strip casinos generally.
Red Rock Station is due to open in April out on WAY west Charleston.

You can't just go up to the track and drive around. Have to do it as part of an event. It's going to happen as part of AMVIV though. I've never autocrossed, but the local SCCA does autoX at a few places around town.
