2004 Clean & Modded 6 speed R53 w/limited slip diff!
Year: 2004
Make: MINI
Model: Coupe
Price: $5400
Mileage: 144000
Color: Black/White Top
Private or Dealer Listing: Private Listing
Location (Region): SouthEast
It has the following mods:
- Hein lowering springs
- Micro-cellular bump stops (I think, based on the plush bottoming - don't know anything about the struts but it feels tight)
- M7 strut tower caps
- One ball exhaust mod
- 17% Alta pulley
- K&N air intake
- New (not rebuilt) cylinder head about 10,000 miles ago
- JVC head unit w/hands-free bluetooth (mic near the driver at the A-Pillar)
- Upgraded speakers (can't remember what kind)
- Subwoofer (sits in the back tray, not in pics because I took it out)
- Sound deadening treatment (haven't seen this but it's obvious compared to my 2006 MINI - so quiet & solid feeling, need to do this on my other ride!)
- 32% (North Carolina legal) window tint
- JCW grill kit
- Blacked-out headlight trim
This car has been super reliable while we've had it. Almost flawless in & out, fast, sweet handling, & very quiet & solid feeling. The only work I've done is oil changes, a drivers side inner cv boot, and resister mod to the battery squib.
Full disclosure, there are a few issues:
- Leaking engine mount (shown in pictures)
- Very slight vibration during hard acceleration (axle maybe? - it was there when I bought the car, hasn't changed, couldn't find anything underneath, & not present at all during normal driving)
- Head liner is starting to get loose
- Subwoofer wasn't working when I bought it but I didn't really care so I removed it but still have it. Not sure if it's a real problem or just a fuse or what. All the wires are still there.
- Bluetooth hands-free stopped working. It says to connect the bluetooth adapter to the stereo (it's in back). Never checked if it needs a new adapter or it's just loose or bad connection or what. Really miss it though, it was super convenient for calls and the sound was great.
I think that's it. Oh, tires have about 10k miles left I think. Great car for one with these miles on it. It was obviously very well taken care of before I got it. Don't know if it's worth $6k but that's where I'm starting. I am in coastal southeastern North Carolina
