Replacement Power Folding Heated Mirrors fitted with Original Mini Union Jack Caps

Selling as a PAIR - LH (Driver Side) & RH (Passenger Side) for LHD vehicles.

Fitted once. Basically unused. Bought in error for RHD R52 and then realised my mistake.

Note...the caps are glued in position

Is the necessary wiring harness pre-installed in all Gen 1? And, where do you place the switch?

 

The switch sits to the right of the mirror adjustment switch under the e-brake handle. I am not sure is the wiring is pre-installed...we bought the car with the option

 

i never knew 1st gens had power folding.. that's cool

 

Just when I thought having power folding mirrors wasn't possible for my 2005 R52...

Now to find out if I have the appropriate wiring in place in the doors...

... and find the switch too...

I pulled my driver's door mirror off and it was hooked up to a wire loom, so I will "assume" that the cars are wired by default...

or...

Are the mirrors actually power folding and the switch is the "option"?? Hmmm...

 

All cars have a loom running to the mirrors for the power adjustment feature. Power fold was a separate option, and there is a different part number for the power fold mirrors than manual fold ones.

I don’t know if any cars were pre-wired for power fold, but I know of at least one person on the forums who retrofitted the power folding mirrors and had to run more wires. It looked like a real pain to do.

 

Duh, the mirrors are "powered"... sheesh...
