Time for new FAT winter tires...
Time for new FAT winter tires...
I have to put new tires on my stock rims (16" V-Spokes)
This time around I want something with a lot of girth, but not looking to spend a lot so I'm also looking for something cheap. I would like a nice tread but it's not as important as keeping the price down.
Can I get some recommended sizes for a 16" wheel? Prefferably the fattest tire before it starts to rub.

I hear that all the time but I run 205/50-16 Hankook Ice Bears on my v-spokes. I've never had a problem with traction and a little more tire improves the ride in dry conditions.
I'm deciding on the Bridgestone Blizzak WS-60.. just doing some extra homework before I buy
Edit: Just ordered 4 from tire rack. $398.32 shipped!

Yeah, -1 one size taller and one size skinnier I thought.
I'm from CA and when I moved to PA I wanted 215 winters.
Someone had to show me winter rally Subie cars set up for snow, for me to believe. And I means they were thin tires-anorexic thin- like 165 tops maybe. Makes sense for thinner tires to cut through ice, snow and mud though.

Wow, nice! What is the tire size on those!? I own the same r84's in white but I wanted to close up that wheel gap a little and also add a little more width, looking at 215/50's right now.
