my favorite mod i have on my car is not a preformace mod but one for looks and it is the led lights from fastmini.net. you can get either red, blue or bright white and these led lights takes place of all the white lights that comes on when you open the doors. also it also replaces the white lights in the glove box and when you open the boot, it also comes with relacement lights for the map lights. you can get them all for $96, i also have the 4 in short antenna from alta $30.

go >here< for pictures of a MINI with the red, blue and super white led in to see what it looks like.

The cheapest mod I have is the "Actual Size" sticker on the back window. It was $1.00 from Aesthetic Creations when I ordered logo stickers to cover the airbag warning labels on the visors.

MultiVex side mirrors were $85.00.

I make wooden shift *****, but I expect you are more of a stainless steel kind of guy. You would probably like one of Doug Whalen's ***** with your spider logo engraved in it.

Its funny you say the actual size sticker because I have that on the right side lower corner of my rear window and that spiderman symbol (in my signature) on my lower left side.... Thanks for the inputs! keep them coming!

Anyone know about the jcw front strut bar or any aftermarket ones? I know ddmworks has one coming out and I've seen front and rear strut braces from racing dynamics ( links are in suspension section https://www.northamericanmotoring.co....php?t=123172)... I'd get the alta sway bar but I can't put it in on my own and my dealer won't do it for me.

More inputs about that or other stuff is welcome!

What kind of mod are you looking for? Straight line performance? Handling? Something like a shift **** or short shifter?

Too bad you're not too mechanical, cuz $250 will get you a set of H&R springs, but not get them installed. If you think you can install them yourself though, that would be my vote for the best thing to drop $250 on. It makes the car look like it should have from the factory, and it rides SOOOOOOOOOO much better!!!

I'm looking for something performance oriented.. I think I'm pretty much out of the gaining horsepower/torque with $250... I do like those headers on your site tho but it's definitely out of price range with install and their probably for the r53 http://www.helix13.com/mini/products/exhaust , so I think I'm gonna move on to handling.

How much would it cost for installation?

I was quoted $450. That, a couple concerns with the springs themselves and the snow we'll be getting here in the NE until late February is what has kept me from purchasing the H&R's as of yet. Also I seem to have gotten lucky from the factory wheel gap wise, and want to wait until I get my new wheels/tires on to see how they look. Installer estimated 6 hours for installation at $90 per. Really sucks because the springs themselves are dirt cheap especially given the ride, performance and aesthetics benefit they reap. Definitely shop around though as some have gotten their springs installed for $150-$175. I know that'd still put you over budget right now, but it's something to keep in mind for a future mod.

More info can be found here.

My recommendation for you would be a 19mm (or larger depending on your needs) rear sway bar. ALTA's is $209.99, installation is simple, it's adjustable, handling improvement is immediately noticeable and it looks good (to me at least - sucker for that red peaking out ).

Offer even better handling yet as it's a stiffer bar. However you should take caution as it can cause the MINI to oversteer relatively easily.

For my uses (no track or auto X but lots of spirited driving) the 19mm bar is plenty good enough. And that's just on the middle setting!

How about a whalen shift **** or one of Robin's fancy wooden ones with the Whalen adapter. You'll have enough money left over to buy several tanks of gas too!
