What mount is that for the Garmin? It looks like it mounts on the dash.

Eidt: Oh wait nevermind, that doesn't look like a Garmin.

The GPS is a MIO C520, which I like better than the Nuvi 650 I tried and returned. The mount is indeed a Nuvi mount which I modified with an adapter plate to hold the MIO.

Here's another view

but how did you get it to stick to the dash? You drill anything, or suction cup? My suction cup won't stick to the dash, looks very similar to yours.

It's the small disc that came with the Nuvi glued to the dash. I figured that as long as I own the MINI, I'd use some kind of a portable GPS so that's not a problem and I don't plan to remove the disc. When I don't use the GPS then I just unmount the mount. The disc then is not an eye sore. In fact some people seeing my car say the disc's glossy surface goes together well with the piano black dash. They all said that if I didn't tell them what it was, they'd think the disc is part of the dash. I'm extremely happy with this position. It's easy to reach with my right hand and right in front of me, at the same level as the tach so my eyes don't have to travel far back and forth between the road, tach, speedo, and GPS.

Felix - how does the overall outside diameter of those 19" wheels compare to the stock tire/wheel combos. I've never seen 19s on a mini.

Meet Scooter - formally!

Finally named my MCSa, I ping/ponged between two names for my spunky little guy, this name really fits.

I took this picture by the local middle school which is out for the summer, it has a nice little park and playground plus is pretty quiet this time of day.

Scooter's Introduction image.

I will put up more pictures, it this post formats as I hope. Hummm. It appears I need to do some more posting ojt. Three inline and one which links to me picasa MINI album.

Scooter is a fun little ride, he can be a beast which fits.

Everyone,

I'm getting ready to buy an AB/AB S and I'm going to replace the stock wheels with 18s (Ultraleggara Black). Do you think it will be hard to find a buyer for my stock wheels. I'd like to offset the cost of the new tires and rims. Thanks!

They sell every day here in the Marketplace - Wheels and Tires forum. Very knowlegeable customers. If you have a reasonable price and you find someone local (or are willing to ship) - you won't have any problem. They may want you to split up the set and sell the tires separately from the wheels. You might check to see what wheels/tires would bring the most on the market. You might find that there's a larger market for an all season tire/wheel combination.

You might read the forum and see what they are selling for. If you were close to Oklahoma, and they were here now, I'd buy a new set of 16" take-offs. I'm not sure I can wait until you're ready to sell.

Good luck.

Tell me about these fancy tow rings - I see these on some cars that are modded. Why would you want to have a fancy tow ring on your car? Is that something that a racing car would have? Is this like slamming your car or going to low low profile tires, or any other mod that is supposed to look high performance?

You hit the nail on the head.....They look good to some folks. Too me they look a bit strange on a street car, but as they say different strokes....

When I go to the track I screw the stock one in. When I come home I unscrew it & put it back in the boot.

Ok, so when you are running the car on the track the tow ring is required? I guess that makes sense - if they need to get a car off the track in a hurry you don't want to be looking for it, so its on already and you can throw a hook on it.
