I didn't have anything with the gauges, but I was getting a lot of clicking in the rear of the car when I would lock the doors after closing the hatch. It sounded a lot like a relay clicking.

Please share where you have found this info. As far as I have ever been able to find, the Peugeot motor (the one in our cars) has cast pistons. All of the spec sheets on the web show this as well.
