IMO you are not going to get the micro spare in the vert rear trunk. Whereas I had that spare in my R53 being able to stand it up and strap it to the back of the rear seat, the vert shelf is not up...

Could be the coil, the 3k hiccup is associated with that. Be sure to pull the wires and see if the electrodes are rusty, but even if not I am still thinking the coil is bad.
