Solo Nationals Roll Call!

Ok, I'm a little bored here at work, having just finished one project and not quite ready to start another. I started thinking about Topeka, since I'll be leaving in two months from today for the big show. Kim will be flying out 2 months from tomorrow to meet me...our hotel reservations are all made.

Who else is making the trek out to the flatness of Kansas for Nationals?

I wish, but I need at least a couple more years of seat time first.

You should just come out for the experience. It will be the time of your life, I promise. My 1st season, I was 12th out of 19 in BSP. My good friend was 2nd to last in STS, the next year, he was 1 out of trophies in GS. Truley a priceless experience. I guess my point is, I had fun every year, regardless of where I placed. Honestly, I probably had more fun when there was zero expectations. Now, if I don't win, I'm disappointed.

I'll be there in GS more than likely. STX is too unpredicatable for me.

I'm still debating, but I haven't done a Tour or Divisional championship yet (don't really want to pay the extra fee), and I find myself living on the east coast this year rather than in the midwest (so instead of a 6 hour drive it'd be like 30 hours or something), so it's not looking real likely. If I do go, I'm imagining I'll scrounge up a co-drive and fly in, so I might not even run HS if I'm there.

I did go last year and it was fun. I'd like to go again.

Craig,

Thanks for the encouragement.

This will be my first full season autocrossing (I had one partial season a few years back). Given that, I wasn't even thinking about nationals, so my vacation time is already allocated elsewhere (figure two days out and two days back for me from L.A., plus the event).

I'll plan on making it out next year though.

Dave

I will be there, and am wondering if mine will be the only Cooper to do all 5 nationals since their re-introduction.

Really? That's cool!

The entry list right now looks like a who's who of the MINI classes!

As of yesterday, we were up to 11. Looks like Larry Harts is planning on a co-driver for 12.

It's too bad so many people feel that they have to have a MINI to compete.

A local guy, and friend of mine, will be there in his Civic. D. Scott Bourne from Lexington. He is very fast, likes to talk and talk lots of smack, but can back it up. He usually wins PAX or is in the top 3 at all 3 of the local regions. Please take him down a peg I kid, I kid, he's a really nice guy.

Late Edit - I see he's found you all on SCCAForums.

good luck everyone, I hope to make it out there next year.
