Paul, they are actually just removing the hoosier name off already made tires and inputing the Conti name. The Tire is actually an excellent tire. It's a Hoosier R6 Rubber compound put on the old fiberglass carcus from the old Hoosier R3S03 (which is one of my favorite tires). It's not an R6 or an A6's but it's miles ahead of most other R-comps out there.
Sarah in 4th 8/10ths out on her what appears to be 2nd lap out. Looks like Owen didn't get in the car so that's a great sign. Tom Long waited till last lap to put in his flyer. This is looking good. I'd be willing to bet Q times will be in the 08's and Owen won't have a problem being there.
Ok back to work.

I thought it was only practice?
Sarah actually run a best of 2.11.498 on her 3rd lap after taking over after 6 laps from Mirzayan who had run a best of 2.10.850 on the 3rd lap for the 4th best time of the session.

Randy run a best of 2.14.282 but was mostly in the 15s and 16s
I really enjoyed watching the live timers as it was just like being in the garages but without hearing the noise, now if I could just get some sound .................

Looks like Sarah and VJ will be on the grid in P6 right next to my buddy's kids. The Riley brothers in their RX8. Chris and I used to race Minis together.
Randy and Owen in P13, very good qualifying!
Congratulations, all!

Update
Friday morning . . .
We are very pleased with 6th and 13th grid positions. This is DAYTONA and Mini's are not supposed to do well here. Daytona has not been kind to us in years past so this makes it particularly sweet.
Sara drove the 197 to 6th and Randy drove the 196 to 13th. The 197 has a little more top speed and it shows in the times. But regardless . . . congrats to Sara! She has been on fire all week.
The 196 has been plagued with intercooler problems all week. The constant pulsing of boost pressure has fatigued the aluminum welds and they are cracking. We have new units on order from PWR in Australia but they have not arrived.
The last practice is at 10am today and we grid for the race at 1:00pm.
More later.

Yeah thats racing!!
The DuraFix stuff comes in a rod, melts at 732 degrees so you can use a propane torch. Would work better than epoxy I think in a high vibration scenario. Might get them through the race.... Somebody in the pits probably has this.
