I put a sprayer hooked to my rear washer bottle with meth on my GP IC. Seems to cool down quick on auto-x runs
I did that awhile ago with a STi nozzle. worked pretty good until i put the alta diverter on and had to take the hood scoop of where it was mounted now i cant find a universal nozzle that will fit into the diverter. the sti wont work
so your putting meth in washer tank? i was just using very concentrated washer fluid
so again.....will anyone like to step up to the plate and tell me which is the BEST intercooler for drag racing and daily driving?
You are looking at two disparate activities, no one IC is BEST for both. For drag racing I'd think you want one as large as possible with the least amount of pressure drop. You can always chill it between runs with ice or a water sprayer. For daily driving quick recovery is probably the most important feature. Then again it also depends on what your typical drive is like, all highway, lots of stop and go or whatever, along with you driving style and what other mods are already preformed.
yup....just took them for someone else tonight (sorry about the brightness.....shop light plus point and shoot)
where did u find that nozzle dear sir ive been lookin for one that bolts upto my alta diverter since i bought it used but then again...im goin fmic so i might just hold off buying on.
a nice owner sent it to me gratis. It's an Alta part. I think I may have bought an Alta TMIC that you had....your buddy sold it to me through the LGT forums. Was that you? Some other stuff too....OBX header, rear diverter
I had one. Made my car slower plus it blocked 50% of the scoop flow
I shimmed and tilted the extreme M7 scoop up, sealed it to the hood with foam rubber to align the bottom of the scoop to the top of the IC. And modified the IC seal to the hood so there was no ambient air leakby. I don't think many people monkey around as much so the ic gets hot because of the air blowing around rather than through it.
a properly designed system (let alone one that costs $700+) shouldn't need to be tweaked to fit, but then again, that's the norm with Alta/Perrin stuff. One of the originators of the 'mod the mod' school of design

I think adjusting the installation correctly falls under normal hot rod mods. If I get a GP IC I bet I'll have some fiddling also.

nope....100% bolt-on.
I've done a ton of mods in my day....some things fit perfectly, no tweaking necessary. Most don't however. That's a function of how much time and effort the manufacturer put into design and manufacturing and also cost.
