May Farms / Byers, CO Hawaiian Cruise Car Festival

This just forwarded from our friend Don (Old81) at MINI5280:

RMVR Members: (and other MINI and Mini friends):

May Farms is holding their 2nd Annual Hawaiian Cruise Car Festival at May Farms, Byers on July 3rd and 4th. There will be a party on the evening of the 3rd, and a parade, party and car show on the 4th. We would like to get a number of RMVR cars to participate in the car show. This is a great opportunity to showcase our club and solidify our relationship with the people of Byers and Deer Trail, many of whom have strongly supported our efforts to build High Plains Raceway. Or, just come out and glad-hand with the locals if you can't bring a car.

The parade is open to race cars, but there are significant issues: The parade will last about 30 minutes at very low speed, so over-heating could be a problem. Also, the parade route includes one significant dip which would preclude formula cars, but any car with more than 5" ground clearance (or on an open trailer!) should be OK. The parade starts at 10:00 AM on the 4th, so parade cars must assemble at the May Farms parking lot by 8:00 AM, cars for the show by 9:00 AM.

Schedule:

Tuesday, July 3rd:
"Street Party" at May Farms, Tuesday at 5:00 PM. Food concessions open at 5:30 PM, music featuring STRIKE III at 7:30 PM. There is a $5.00 cover charge.

Wednesday, July 4th:
The Parade through Byers will start at 10:00 AM. Cars that can endure the parade (please note the cooling and ground clearance issues discussed above) should assemble at the May Farms parking lot by 8:00 am, then will be directed to the High School parking lot on Front St.

The Car Show at May Farms: Registration Fee for the car show is $10.00 (Oops, not mentioned on their registration form). Car Show gates will open to the public at 11:00 AM (immediately after the parade), so cars should arrive by 9:00 AM and be off-loaded and parked by 10:00 AM. There will be live music and activities throughout the day of the 4th! Registration includes (2) VIP passes to the Farm, live music, a close look at 100's of classic and race cars, hay rides, barrel train rides, animal barnyard, bounce castle, pony rides, and all the farm amenities! Food and bar available all day (I think it is $2 beers!). There will be drawings for prizes and each participant in the car show gets an entry.
