Octane Motorsport team finishes the year on top of the podium at Mosport
Montréal, Québec – After qualifying the Castrol MINI Cooper S JCW In second position, Alain Lauzière, driver of the Octane MINI, crossed the finish line in third position in Touring class for the second to last race of the Castrol Canadian Touring Car Championship Series, the 30-minute event being run at Mosport.
Lauzière also won the main event of the Castrol series on Sunday, still driving the Octane MINI, prepared for this event by the Simone Performance Imports shop in Newmarket Ontario. “Wow, this race was a perfect demonstration of why we love racing here; the competition is so intense” noted Lauzière.
After passing Christian Raymond of the Twofast Mazda team, the two cars remained bumper to bumper for the next five laps. The competition was so intense that the two cars ran 19 of the 20 laps within the same second. “I was very happy to see that the 3rd position Saab had caught-up to the Mazda after a few laps” admitted Lauzière. ”The two drivers mutually slowed each other down while fighting for second position, which allowed me a bit of breathing room”. The Saab of Kyle Marcelli crossed the finish line in second position, only 5 seconds behind the Original MINI Parts Cooper S JCW.
The Octane team also participated in the “War Bonnet” 3-hour Enduro, organized by BEMC late Saturday. Lauzière and his co-driver, Pierre Mandeville, took home another class-victory, in the GTB class. The Cruisecanada.com MINI managed to finish in 4th place overall in a field of 38 starting cars. “The team prepared us a perfect car” commented co-driver Pierre Mandeville. “A big thank you to the entire crew who worked so hard this weekend”

Bean,
I had forward and rearward facing cameras. But it looks like the award winning crew needs to go back to the "How to use a videocamera 101" course. The files are garbage.

Nice work!!
Congratulations Alain, great to see you doing well with the Mini.
How long before your season starts up again?
You should try and make a few club races here in the States during your "off" period.
Hope to start racing again in October, still have a few things to fix before then.
Regards,
Steve
