O'Fest BMW club race

After an absence from racing since January, Jason & I got the car ready for the O'Fest race at MSR. We have always enjoyed the track there as well as the great hospitality of all the locals that we had not raced against in two years.
The field initially was supposed have 38 cars but dropped to 28 at the last minute. Regardless of the smaller field we had great racing.
I raced the first sprint and place 2nd in class & 5th O.A. out of 28 cars.
Jason drove in the 2nd sprint was made to start at the back of the pack since there was no qualifying for thr 2nd race. (grid based on previouse race finish Arghhh1!)
Still he finished 4th in class and 12th o.a.
Sunday's enduro went well, Jason qualified the car on row 2 in 4th O.A.
We had good race but could not catch Bret Strom and Miller's extremely fast M3's.
I jumped in the car at midpoint and had a close race with an HP M3 for most the race. We finished 3rd in class and 5th o.a again.
The new wing and splitter we designed and installed before the race seemed to have helped quite a bit.
Should have some pics and videos posted soon.
Wish we had another Mini in the bunch (hurry up Greg), there were two Minis in the Race school.
Next race will probably at Barber in November.
Cheers,
Steve:thumbsup:

Congrats on the strong finishes. I was there for the DE part of the weekend. Thanks for taking the time to chat and answer all my questions.

The O'Fest National turnout was abysmal as close to three times as many participants raced at the Watkins Glen Regular race including the ten you mentioned.

Brett was driving a 328 (not an M3). He enjoyed racing with you guys!
