River City MINI'S on Facebook!!!!
Hello all, I've taking it upon myself to create a facebook page and try to get a club going again here in Richmond, Va. Hopefully after a few members we can start doing meets and events of the sort. The name is simply "River City MINI'S". I havent done much with it yet but as soon as more and more member join i will be putting up pics of peoples rides and what nots....Thank for any support this might turn up.....Brian Jones

I just went looking for the page and could not find it. Can you maybe post the link here.
I just picked up my new 2011 MCS from Crown on Wednesday night before the snow. It's my second MINI. My first was a 2003 MCS (that I bought from Crown) and traded in on a 2009 BMW 1 series. Never really like the BMW as much as the MINI. It's good to be back in one.
I'm a bit up the road (Fredericksburg) but would still like to see the club get up and going again.

Nice I was wondering what happened to the River City Mini guys. I remember a few times us Richmonddubs folks and RCM got together.
I will be leaving the ranks of the Dubbers and joining the Mini crowd this next week.
We should meet up sometime at like a Starbucks or something. The one near me would probably be willing to put up with us hehe, I know the manager.
Or we could crash the Ferrari guys at the one on River Road before it goes over the river.

Hi everybody, great to see the enthusiasm back. Count me in . Congratulations to the new owners out there. I'm a 4-time MINI owner (3 from Crown and 1 from out-of-state) and was one of the founders of RCM which never really blossomed but hope we can get something going again .
We live in the far West End, but I work in Midlothian so you might see me on 64, 288, Parham, Broad St, or anywhere in between.
For anyone who hasn't done the Cooper Vineyards (Louisa) event, do attend it's a lot of fun we get a lot of MINIs/Minis and a good bit of the proceeds go to charity!

Good to see someone trying to get RCM up again. Us down here in HR MINI have had several activities up there in 2010.
Give me a shout if you need any help or advice. Our members will be glad to help out up there.
Also, don't forget, we'll be organizing the Cooper Vineyard Run during their MINI Rally. I'm still working with them on the date. Come on down and register at www.hrmini.com and let us know if we can help!

Yeah, we're going to try to "put the band back together!" (The Blues Brothers) .
We'll organize on this end while you guys organize on that end .
I spoke with the sales team at Crown about club events and they are on board. I know over the last few years they haven't had much $$ to work with but hopefully moving forward we can do more joint events than just Cooper Vineyards and the annual British (now European) car show in September.

I stopped by the event late in the afternoon.
I really dig the Countryman - very impressive while somehow still managing to somewhat look/feel like a MINI. The rear seat area is quite generous compared to my Clubman and the Coupes/Verts and the rear buckets move fore and aft, recline which is super cool. The boot is not much different in terms of space than the Clubman I would say.....about the same width and depth only the Countryman's tall roofline gives it the edge.
I didn't drive the car, but plan to this week or next when I bring my car into service for the state inspection .

Hello all My wife and I are both Mini owners, hers is a 2011 Mini Cooper British racing green with Black leather and mine is a 2009 JCW Astro Black with Red leather interior. It is nice to see there is a group here in Richmond. I hope many of you will be going to Minis on the Dragon in April. Cheers

I wave a lot as well, but few wave back. There are several on their mobile phones, guess it makes it hard to wave and drive when that is happening.
I'm part of a small group of folks reviving the Richmond area MINI motoring club. There's a new Facebook Group named RVA MINIs. Feel free to stop by and join. Soon, a Facebook page will be added too.
There's also a new website in the works too, RVAMinis.com that will launch in the near future.
Will keep everyone here up to date as we ramp up.
Thanks
James
