I have reviewed my maps and will submit a revised route proposal to Peter to get to Half Moon Bay. The revised route I have in mind will NOT include any freeway miles if my maps are accurate.

Revised Run Map

An updated map is posted on the REME Web Site. It looks like it will be nice weather too. Vito's Trattoria in San Jose is now closed on Saturdays for lunch. A new restaurant will be posted shortly.

Matt,

Great you can join us. Do you know of any road conditions that might be a concern?

Thanks,

Only two things I'm aware of...

Tunitas creek will be slow. Beautiful but slow. It's very rough. Also, west on 84, right after the red barn, are some doosie of some bumps. There are signs saying they're coming. But they are REAL BAD, and you have to go over them very slow. The roadbed there started to slide with all the rains.

Also, you may want to add a 10 min stop at the Pidgeon Point lighthouse.

IT's between 20 & 21. If the weather is nice, it's worth the 200 yard walk to the point.

A stop at Pigeon Point Light Station has been added to the per the suggestion of Dr Obnxs. The Station parking lot is 2.4 miles north of map point 20. At map point 20 (Highway 1 & Gazos Creek Road) we will make a right turn rather than the left that shows on the pdf file map on the REME web site. Map handouts will be available at San Mateo and Half Moon Bay. After the Station stop we will go south on Highway 1 to map point 21 (Swanton Road).

That Biker you saw in a hula skirt drinking a coconut waving to you all was from a motorcycle club called the Vampires . They were having a overnight camping/ralley ride up by Big Basin. You can guess what the theme was ! How do I know this? My hubby and co-pilot is a member. I told them about the run and they co-ordinated it so everyone didn't bump into each other and cause a traffic jam. They were cool.
