My daughter wanted a mini for her 16th. She got one. Problem is I can’t find parts like I need to. I have tried unsuccessfully to find a dealer access program that would allow me to be able to look up schematics and repair procedures and parts break downs. I currently use caterpillar ET and SiS software so I’m familiar with how these programs work. And it’s nice to be able to enter a vin number and be able to look up your parts. Dealers here are less than helpful and want your car and not to sell a part. So does anyone have any idea where I can obtain a dealer type software package for looking up parts, diagrams, and repair procedures?

 

RealOEM's great for parts and some diagrams.
Sometimes if RealOEM doesn't provide a p/n, then that part might be vehicle model specific. Then a dealer can give you the specific p/n with your a VIN. Found out recently for coil springs for my car, because the rears are different between the fwd only and awd.
NewTIS is great for repair instructions and torque specs.

My car being past warranty and bmw's service period, i like to buy my parts now from FCPeuro because of their lifetime guarantee. If FCP doesn't have it i goto ECS. I also shop WayMotorWorks and DetroitTuned.

Oh yeah, youtube's also great. You can pick up a lot from watching the 2 door R56 repair videos. ModMini is a youtube channel i've watched a lot of.

 

Thanks for the information. I will definitely look into it. Right now I’m downloading one from EPcata that I believe is the actual BMW, Mini, Roles Royce service and parts program. I do all the diagnostics and electrical work on our semi trucks and heavy equipment so I have all the different types of software from this site and it’s all been OEM. But ya. This car has been interesting to learn. And learning it has been. I just want it to be safe and reliable for her. She 16 and last thing I need is to have someone or something happen and me having to go full military assault on someone. So as long as she’s moving then she’s safe. Lol 😂.
