Waterpump Install 2011 MCS ALL4
Waterpump Install 2011 MCS ALL4
For those that have installed a waterpump on a MCS All4, how difficult? Can't find any install videos or write-ups on the MCS All4. I've seen the write-ups for the R56's but wondering if the All4 has any unique problems/concerns. Thanks - Chas

Sure, anytime my friend. The only thing that comes to mind is being able to reach the bolts. I think on my R56s, I would raise or drop the engine to reach them specially the friction wheel. I even used my fingers to back them out once I get them going with a shallow ratchet. I have one of those multi point low profile craftsman tool.
Do a dry run of what you want to do then execute.

Yep, I had found that video and it was useful, however all i removed was the passenger side wheel/tire and the fender well liner.
I released the pressure on the friction wheel and removed the water pump pulley.
I then removed the friction pulley assembly, only three bolts, followed by the water pump, five bolts.
Reinstalled reverse order. It was extremely tight but it can be done. Hardest part was reinstalling the friction pulley assembly bolts. I used a strong magnet attached to a screwdriver to get started. I purchased ratcheting box end wrenches from HF which helped out with the limited space.
