2012 Countryman Stumble at Mid-Throttle
Hi All, so I have a 2012 Countryman All4S with a manual transmission and it has had a rather severe stumble when you give the car anywhere near full throttle when the RPM is between roughly 2k to 3k, especially when climbing a hill. The car essentially cuts out and if I don't lift the throttle, it will typically throw an error code and run at half power until I turn the car off and restart it. I took it to the dealership for a diagnostic and they said my fuel injectors were bad, so I replaced those, but that wasn't the issue. In looking through the forums, it appears it could be the HPFP, carbon build up, or a number of other issues, but has anyone had this specific issue, where it literally feels like the car loses power momentarily at higher throttle or under load, and if so, what have they found to be the cause? I'm not confident that the dealership can properly diagnose it since they failed the last time, so any help on this would be greatly appreciated, particularly since I need to get the car smogged and can't do so until the issue is resolved. Thanks!

Could be something simple, but I'm going to guess HPFP. You're right around the miles when it starts to fail. My start failing around 50k miles, I also have a 2012 ALL4, and that's what mine did as well. Would cut out real bad and put the car into limp mode.
The dealer will replace the HPFP under an extended warranty released by MINI, be aware that the codes must meet a very specific order for them to do so. I didn't have time to keep spending $100+ to get diagnosed at the dealer every 2 to 3 weeks so I just opted to go to a local shop I trust to replace it for me. I've heard stories where the dealer has been very helpful and quick to replace it. Good luck finding the issue!

Do search on the forum well known issue and easy fix especially at 60k. Replace the plugs and coil packs. A 30 minute job at the most costing well under $200 for parts. you will need a special 14mm spark plug socket available from many places. Your due for plugs at 60k anyways and coils are recommended.
CM's have the N18 engine which is not prone to Carbon build up.
Also at this mileage in my opinion after having 5 Mini's and still owning 2 CM's. Change your oil at 5-7k. Use an OEM filter.

HI,
I am and have been battling the same issue. I have a 2016 ALL4S. 29k miles. Under moderate to heavy acceleration it just stumbles in the mid RPM range. Hills, on ramps etc. I have brought the car to the dealership no less than 6 times for this issue. It repeatedly pulls super knock codes. Multiple plug and coil replacements, injector flush to clean the carbon buildup out, nothing has worked. Its the most annoying thing. I had a JB+ installed. Removed it to see if that was the issue. Nope, the issue remains. Has been a very frustrating saga. No clue what to do next. Too much time invested.

Unless your car has a tune on it as mine do then I don't think colder plugs would help. make sure you are using top tier gas at the highest octane you can buy in your state.

I have 2013 Paceman S 6spd with 52k miles, and started to have the exact same issue last fall. I replaced the plugs and coils and that seemed to help up until about 3 weeks ago, now the same symptoms are back. The only mod, so to speak, is that I've added a JB+ to it. Has anyone heard of this issue with Pacemans before? I can't find a definitive answer.
Oh, I forgot to mention that when she does stumble, there is a rapid clicking sound with it. Thoughts?
Thanks in advance.
