Front passenger door won't open - again!

So, last winter this was intermittent, and went away during the summer (and my two dealer visits - ECU update and oil change). Now it's cooling off again, and problem is back.
When cold, the door will not open from outside or in. Once the car warms up, it seems to be fine.

Anyone else have this happen?

Thought I would update here:

Made an appointment at the dealer to get issue addressed (4 hr drive each way), and booked a room for the night before so I could check car in early in day. I also requested a courtesy car for the day and got a Cooper S (2dr) with under 400km on the clock! Had a nice day driving and shopping, then got a call at 4pm ish. The door latch was the culprit, they did not have part in stock. BUT... they said they were checking to see if BMW kit would work... it did! Picked up car at 5:30pm or so. Coolant temp sensor recall done, brake fluid flush done (feel the difference from this!), and latch done. The cabin filter is due, but they are out of stock - I'll pick one up next time I'm there. Total cost: $0 So, I stayed another night and shopped some more!

UPDATE: about a month ago the problem suddenly returned. It was not related to cold weather at all, just suddenly stopped opening. I made an appointment, and travelled to the dealer last Thursday to see what they could do. They had a courtesy car waiting for me again - 2013 BMW 328i xdrive! Bad news: my car is still not fixed. Good news: I drove the 350km (215 miles) home in the 328i. And have been driving it all week. Not too worried about when my car is fixed at this point ;-)

Is it the door itself or is it the little black button on the door handle?

I'm having the same problem with my driver door, for me its the comfort access button. Ive had it replaced, still 1/2 way works. The dealer tells me its the skin grafts on my hand, to poor signal... Ive just given up on it.

Mine is something inside the door. Will not open from either handle, but unlocks fine.
BTW, I'm pretty sure the comfort access does not rely on sensing your touch - I think it is a physical switch. You. Should be able to press it with something completely non-conductive and have it work.
Also, two weeks driving the 328 as of this afternoon...

So far, not so good. Door has already failed to open several times.
I sent a detailed email to the dealership general manager about my situation, still waiting on a reply. I think I'll follow up with a phone call soon.
