Cylinder Head Cover Replacement

Cylinder Head Cover Replacement
Recently, on a cold start my 2011 Countryman (65,000 miles) has been making a loud screeching sound. By the time I drive out of my neighborhood (about 1/2 mile) the sound stops. The car otherwise operates fine.
I took the car to the dealer to be checked out. They could not replicate the sound. When I drive out of the dealer service bay, the sound immediately starts. I drive back around and into the service bay. The car sits there in the service bay and "performs" (that is, makes the noise very loudly) for the service techs. The mechanic literally runs down to check out the car. He says he knows the sound immediately. He pulls up the dipstick about an inch and the sound stops. Puts it back in and the sound starts again. He then fights to pull off the oil cap. It's under vacuum pressure and is hard to remove. When he gets it off, the sound stops again.
Diagnosis. I believe he said that one of the oil separator valves (?? not sure about this) was bad. The fix requires replacement of the cylinder head cover. That's a $500 part with an extra $300 for the work.
Any known problems with these? I searched but didn't find much. This seems like a part that should not fail at 65,000 miles.

Countryman or Countryman S ?
If you are mechanical you can replace it yourself.

This is the main cover , comes with seals, new oil cap and main install hardware, bolts and nuts .
https://www.ecstuning.com/Search/SiteSearch/11127646552/
Thats the engine bay , you will need to move all the items away and that ront cover pops up and out on the front portsion.
Use this as a guide:
