Tpms

Hi,

For those that have a separate winter set, do you have TPMS installed? If not, I am assuming that the car will display the warming error constantly correct?

For folks that have TPMS, did you buy from dealer or from the tire shop where the tires were purchase? I assume we can use a generic one and does not have to be oem correct?

Thanks

If you have RF tires you should have TPMS installed unless you check pressures constantly. A visual doesn't do it IMO.

I bought used rims with TPMS sensors so I was good to go. Tire Rack has reasonably priced TPMS aftermarket sensors as do other vendors.

I have winter and summer set of wheels. I purchased the new rims from Discount Tire. Just make sure that they clone the individual ID's for the OEM TPMS correctly. I had to go back a second time because the TPMS did not reset properly.

I am getting none RF winter tires on replica rims. I’ll ask to see how much it cost for TPMS. I see that TireRack has them for $54 each but being in Canada, pretty sure it will cost more.

I used the sensors from Tire Rack when I bought our snow tires previously from them, had no issues with either R60 or F60 Countryman in resetting the TPMS system.

I just called My Mini dealership to get a quote on TPMS and they told me that Mini in Canada does not have TPMS. Only in USA that the system is required. Can someone confirm?

2018 CM All4 S.

Thanks

Just called another dealership from a bigger city. (Only have one in town) and they confirm that Canadian specs CM does not have TPMS. Only speed sensor is installed.

Looks like Ike I just saved myself some money along with not having to deal with warning light. 😁

Thanks everyone for the quick response!
