R60 USB and BT audio support?
Hey! We are just getting to know our newly acquired 2011 R60.
Trying to figure out how to get this music working. Seeing the same thing on both my iPhone7 and the Wife's 7+.
When we plug in via USB (only) we can see the music on the phone and start and stop the music, but audio plays on the phone.
Alternatively we are paired and connected by BT the phone says it is playing via BT to MINIxxxxx but no music comes out. Next to the parking for the phones the Handsfree icon is bright and the music note icon is greyed.
What are we doing wrong?
thanks!

You would need a MINI-specific cable to connect your iDevice to USB unfortunately. It's called the Y-cable and you can buy it your dealer's parts department for about $90...yes...$90....
OR.... If you have the Visual Boost radio (which it sounds like you do), you can do Bluetooth Audio. Funny thing it does though, is if you plug into the USB port, it deactivates BT audio and you have to go in and reactivate it.
To turn on BT audio if you've already paired your phone, from the main menu go to CD/MULTIMEDIA. If you see CD/EXTERNAL DEVICES/BLUETOOTH AUDIO you're in the right spot - if you see anything else, tilt the controller left to go back a level in the menu until you do see CD/EXTERNAL DEVICES/Etc. Go into BLUETOOTH AUDIO and highlight your phone, tilt the controller RIGHT and select CONFIGURE DEVICE then make sure AUDIO is checked and click OK. Tilt left a couple times until you're back at that CD/EXTERNAL DEVICES screen and select EXTERNAL DEVICES. Select your phone and you should be good! If you need to plug your phone in to charge in the future, I recommend using a cigarette lighter charger instead as it won't interfere with BT audio and will charge faster anyway.

Don't know if there's a way to fix that behavior via coding though. There is a way to eliminate the Y-cable though if you do want to plug in, but honestly, BT audio is the way to go anyway if you have the Visual Boost radio.
