Help Identifying

(See picture)

Ive been looking in all corners of the internet for this little flag pole. The picture is from a MINI fan on Instagram and the only problem is that he/she is Japanese and I cant seem to breakthrough the translation barrier.

Has anyone else seen this?
Thank for your help.

It's called a parking pole. Very popular in the JDM scene especially with hondas. The purpose is yo help identify your car in a parking spot.

Are you sure? I agree with the 'parking pole' but they used to install these on cars and some trucks just so you could tell exactly where the corner of your car was while trying to park.

theres many different reasons for them. older model S500's had them factory to see where the *** ended on the vehicle. but thats the only other purpose i know of on an OEM vehicle from japan

This was a link to an expired auction which became invalid.

Yes we have them on our fire trucks, since the bumper sticks out significantly it helps us identify where the bumper is. Helps with navigating turns and apparatus placement

This is what I had always heard. It helps you identify the actual corner. In the case of smaller cars it helps prevent curb rash.

update.
there seems to be no way to order anything from the Japanese catalog. I tried emailing a Japanese Dealer (using google translate) and attempted to contact them through twitter but no one has answered.

Additional pictures

These pictures were from a (closed & sold) auction in New Zealand for a MINI parking assist pole. One of the pictures has a part number stamp.
