Hello all!

I'm interested in putting driving lights on my '16 CMS. I really can't afford the install cost though. Are these relatively easy to install and hook up? I'm not auto mechanically inclined at all but good at following instructions.

I'm thinking of purchasing the OEM set on Outmotoring.com.

A bit of a challenge. I think there are some good youtubes on the process also.

These are the instructions that come with them. I love mine they are great for spotting deer along the road. The xenon's are focused on the road, but you also need to see what is going to jump out.

I don't understand why accessory lights would be Mini specific....not out for R60 yet??

ECS guys..

I have regular driving lights installed at purchase. Do I have to re-wire whole thing to upgrade to LED. I know I have to buy kit and probably change brackets.

 

Hello, if you have the halogen already installed, you will just need the light fixture kit,. Which come with a new harness, you cant get the NEW LED light fixtures by themselves , bit comes with the harness. You just pop the old fixtures off with the short wire harness plugs and pop the new ones in. You could ebay or keep the harness part.

 

Thank you I didn't know if new harness was different and I would have to pull old one. I will put this on my list of upgrades.

Thinking about this mod. It is worth getting the grill and bracket (#63132241489) or is it just as easy to use the stock grill and just order brackets?

Looks like you would just have to cut some holes in it for the brackets to get through.

All the stuff posted above is obviously the RIGHT way (OEM way) of doing it. The other way is to use whatever lights you want, mounted probably to those brackets (since they exist) and then you could power them independently and use a relay from an unused ACC circuit or even the parking lamps.

 

For the R60/ R61 the grille / brackets is a combo. No separate part number for just the brackets.

Quick question, what kind of mod is needed to fit the led covers (x design) on a non led driving lights?
