The best connection found was to fuse 44 at r/side inside fuse box. Ran wire from engine compartment thru firewall at same grommet hood release cable goes thru then under dash, behind heater box under top of carpet behind fuse box door to connection to fuse 44 which is the cig lighter fuse. Getting the info from a nice Mini dealer fuse 44 wire is a red/black wire with yellow bands going around, this connection is easy to tap into because it is a blue connector at front left side of fuse box.Pin 2 of blue connector. On with ignition, off when off.Any questions do not hesitate to ask. They work really well & are really bright.

Sorry to revive a 2.5 yr old dead thread but for you guys that have done this, do you know if this $178.95 set from outmotoring:

is the same as this $110.95 set from ebay:

Thinking about another way to wire these lights which would be easy to do and easily removable. And I wouldn't have to muck around in the fuses. Maybe I'm way off, I'm no electrician. Since I want the light to be on whenever the ignition is on, even when the parking and headlights are on, could I just connect the red and black to a 12v plug and plug into the splitter I have coming off the cig lighter socket?
Anyone know for sure if my idea will work?
