2011 CM S DME Swap After Newer Motor With Bosch HPFP?

Hi, I bought a 2011 CM S at an auction and as soon as I collected it I placed an order for a Bosch Hpfp because all the symptoms (limp mode under acceleration and rough idling) pointed to it. I received the part a week later and I installed it, and it’s like I never changed it. So I called a friend of mine and explained this to him and he told me that it’s impossible that the car came with the Bosch hpfp Because of its production date, he came over and landed on the conclusion that the motor was replaced with a post 2012 one. He suggested that I get a Post 2012 DME and wiring and my problems would go away. Before I go spending any more money, is he there any truth in what he’s saying? Please assist.
