Prevent potential overheating question

I find it absolutely nuts that there is not a gauge or readout or anything as far as engine coolant. So with that being said, what are you guys doing to keep up with your ECT? I have a scanner with live diagnostics but don't want to keep a cord connected and under/around my feet.

I installed gauges, Cravenspeed has gauges that match the MINI speedometer and tach also mounts and gauge adaptors.

I use a mounted gauge for boost, but for coolant temp and everything else, I use an OBD2 dongle and Dash Command on my iPhone. It’s cheap (under $10) and gives you everything you can want including the ability to customize gauge sets and you can put as many as you have room for on your phone screen. The reason I don’t use it for watching boost is because there is just a about a half second of lag in the data.
You can catalog with it too.
a lot of others use the Scangauge 2 for stuff like that. It will display 4 parameters at a time.
