Diverter valve

Any suggestions on which Diverter valve would be best for my 2011 S Countryman, my car now has 100,000 miles running on stage 2, is this mod necessary.

thanks

With running a Stg 2 tune I'd recommend the Forge Recirc valve as it will handle the extra boost.

Yes! The stock valves use a plastic membrane that can get brittle with age and allow some unwanted bypass when it operates. The piston type units (such as Forge) are vastly superior in their operation and can handle much larger boost pressures. I speak from experience, having tracked my 1st Gen Audi TT (hard!) with the Forge unit. My car was using an aggressive APR tune at the time which resulted in > 20 psi boost pressure whereas stock was somewhere near 13 psi. I haven't done anything like that in my new-to-me R60 Countryman Cooper S All4, as I'm not tracking it but I would not hesitate to purchase the Forge unit. Besides...they sound very cool as they operate! Psssshtt!

Great info, thanks I will check the above link.
I guess it's about time to replace my original 2011 valve.

Following this with interest. I run a Stage 2 RPM tune and swapped my OEM diverter valve with the old diaphragm design for the new design that Mini apparently started using sometime in 2015-2016. (Thanks again Mr. Grumpy!)

The new valves don't have the membrane to worry about, which is cool, and they're not expensive. However, I feel like both OEM options tend to release boost pressure prematurely and at somewhat odd intervals depending on the load/driving situation. Wondering if the valve upgrade solves this problem once and for all.

I have the upgraded OEM diverter valve and recently purchased the Alta performance spring to replace the OEM spring. Is this a viable option to buying an aftermarket DV? Running stage 2, map B at the moment but want to start using map C.

yeah you should be fine with the Alta spring in a OEM diverter.
another option out there besides Forge is the Go Fast Bits DV+ It uses the OE solenoid but replaces the piston with a metal one and an additional spring for higher boost situations. I use one and am very happy with it.

I've decided to order the latest JCW DV 2016 from dealership, this new version has improved over my older version 2011 and should do the job for a reasonable price, even with a stage 2, I should see a difference. PN: 11658636606

This is the one I have but going to install the Alta spring to see if I can feel a difference with Map C.
