Countryman Build for SEMA 2018

Hi all, we posted in the new members forum about this upcoming build and we're happy to post our first update!

First, our vehicle: 2015 R60 Countryman S All4
We looked for quite a while and finally found the perfect vehicle. 14,000 original miles, perfect inside and out, and completely stock...

First upgrade obviously had to be the roof rack and the tent. When adding a James Baroud rooftop tent, we always want the crossbars of the rack to be at least the width of the tent for stability and support. We opted for the Rhino-Rack kit for our vehicle as they are a partner of ours and their racks are top notch. The tent on the vehicle is the Discovery in black. Next we swapped out the wheels and tires for something a little sleaker and sportier.

Next came the engine compartment upgrades. NM Engineering sent us some of everything - including their Power Control Module, charge and discharge piping, intake kit in carbon fiber, and titanium turbo heat shield. We noticed very decent power improvement with these items as well as significant gains in the important "badass sound" department. The factory dump valve became very audible with the turbo piping changes as well. NOTE: The turbo heat shield is actually a shared part for a different model and we discovered it didn't fit with the factory engine cover plastic, so we trimmed the engine cover just along the top of the heat shield so that they didn't bind on each other. The way these two pieces are shaped actually hides the trimmed plastic edge as well which gives it a completely factory look.

Then the car went on the lift for our new exhaust system from SuperSprint. They sent us the full kit - downpipe with high-flow cat and all. This really upped the performance and allowed us to tune the NM Power module to it's full potential, from +3 PSI to +5 PSI (required just flipping a couple of dip switches from down to up). The kit fit well but the replacement of the downpipe was quite a project compared to the rest of the system.

That's it for now. We will post some driving impressions and hopefully a video clip in the next week or so. Next upgrades will be the suspension, brake rotors, and a new blow off valve from Forge...

We went with these from ECS Tuning:

The tents are actually available now - check with Adventure Ready, one of our dealers in Washington state.

Exhaust system (and dump valve) love for everyone, courtesy of Super Sprint and our friends at Forge Motorsport. More updates coming later this week!

We just finished installing the quad ally light mount we got from VIP Customs along with the four Squadron Pro amber LED lights the awesome folks at Baja Designs sent us. We just added about 20,000 lumens of light - should be about like turning on the sun...
We also added the Cooperworks front air dam.
