LED bulb upgrades

I recently swapped out most of the interior and exterior bulbs on my 2015 countryman for error free LEDs including the rear license plate bulbs. For some reason one of the 2 license plate bulbs keeps getting dimmer. When I pulled the dim bulb out this evening, it looked slightly discolored on part of the board and I got the distinct aroma of superheated plastic. Has anyone else had similar issues and if so, did you find a way to fix it? I’m concerned that there is too much heat being generated and this presents a dangerous condition.

I bought the Ziza brand ones from ECS, and zero error codes when installed.

Thanks for the advice. I swapped the offending bulbs out for newer and more expensive units I found on Amazon. So far so good. Much better light output, less heat, and no burning plastic smell.
