Fog light/driving light not working

All,

I have a 2011 Mini Countryman S. I just had the engine replaced and had the fog lamp warning light on. I checked and the passenger side fog lamp is out. I replaced the bulb and=d it’s still not working. I then placed the passenger side bulb in the driver side and the bulb works on the driver’s side. I think the shop may have knocked something loose when replacing the engine. The wiring looks intact but I see something that may be missing something like a fuse.

What is this part, see pics.

some sort of connector

Not sure what this is

It looks like something that is inserted onto the edge of sheet metal or plastic trim, like something used to guide the path of the wire rather than a wiring connector. I suggest that you examine the drivers side and see if there is something that matches it.
