Recent Mods

Hi all! Been an R60 owner (2012 CMS All4) and forum reader since 2015, but I just officially registered and this is my first post. Recently purchased some upgrades and finally installed them: NM Module, Sprint Booster, aFe drop-in replacement air filter. Module is set to high and I exclusively run 93 octane (I've never run less than 91 since owning the car at 11K miles). Definitely noticeable power increases...but I get a hesitation or "bucking" during acceleration since putting in the NM. I've been running the replacement filter prior to the other mods and never had an issue. Would upgrading to a higher flow 360 degree filter help with this?

You dont say how miles are on the R60 now. If over 40k then its plugs time and possibly coils. Also there have been many reports of this issue with the NM on high. IT fulls the ECM into adding boost without enough fuel to compensate. For only $200 more than the NM you could get a full ECU tune and not have any issues.

ke3ee thanks for the reply! It has 55K on it now. I thought about an ECU tune but was worried it might get remapped at the dealership next time I went in. Maybe I am misinformed...suggestions?

I have tunes on both of my CM's and both have been back to dealership many times without issue. If your at 55k then even without the NM your ready for plugs. With the NM or a Tune I would suggest NGK 1422's. They are one heat range cooler. Most of the dealers that frequent this board have them. I personally like to deal with Way Motor works.

Much appreciated for the feedback. I was wondering about the plugs, but the last time at the dealer i asked and they said they don't get replaced, but I figured otherwise. I've replaced many plugs before but never on my CM...is it DIY and easy gapping?

There is a special BMW\Mini 14 point socket to removed the OEM plugs . you can change all 4 in less than 10 minutes.

Is there a specific gap I should use? Would it be different if I got the ECU tuned?

.024-.026 or 6mm and should be the same with either the NM or a tune.

Hey again. Just wanted to see if you could clarify about plugs. I have both of these in my cart on amazon as they both have been referenced many times, but which are the ones I want:

1. NGK (1422) ILKR8E6 Spark Plug

2. NGK 95770 ILZKBR7B8DG Laser Iridium Spark Plug

I cant speak for others but I have the 1422's in both of my R60's. The 95770 look like a 7 heat range which is stock so they may be stock replacements. The 1422's are an 8 so One range cooler better for higher boost.
