Brake Reset Issue (Front)

So I replaced my front and rear pads and rotors. I was able to reset the rear brake service indicator but not the front. The front is staying at 1500 miles. The sensor wasn't damaged or anything.

I've followed around 4 different ways of resetting already and none have worked. Do I need to simply buy a new sensor for the front to reset the service interval?

On a side note, I didn't get the immediate braking performance & bite I thought I would (Carbotech pads/ Stoptech rotors) and brake feel is almost like it was stock. I guess I need to upgrade my brakelines..

Thanks!

You need to replace the sensor when replacing the rotors and pads or it wont reset.

Thanks - yeah, I figured that at this point. I wonder why the rears were able to reset though?

I'm also wondering now that the pads are replaced if it will just stay at 1500 miles and not countdown. I would like to replace he sensor, but it seems the opposite end of the plug goes behind some molding w/c seems like a hassle to remove : (

The sensor is a resistor, so any wear that is enough to change its resistance will keep it from resetting and the rear brakes wear longer than the fronts.

Some people just splice the sensor wires together and don't replace anything. Personally I don't do that. I think it is unfair if I sell or trade the car in for future owners.

The real test of the brakes is a full on panic stop for me, everyday braking doesn't feel all that different when I've changed pads/rotors.
