Question Is your Auto trans jerky?

I bought an automatic '15 CM couple months ago CPO. I've always noticed since driving this car that the transmission always lurched between gears and isn't smooth. I took this as being normal, but while the car is still under warranty, I had to ask "is it normal?"

It is even more pronounced in sport mode which is to be expected, but even in regular mode the tranny doesn't transition into other gears that smoothly. Sometimes I feel like it hunts for the proper gear to be in as well.

I would take it in and have it checked out if it is still under warranty.

Thanks, I'm gonna make an appointment......in the meantime I just ordered the NM torque arm insert. I'll prob install after the dealer visit with hopes it helps!

I have also experienced this with both my Countryman and a 08 Cooper s I had. I noticed that if I put bottle of fuel injector cleaner in and then beat the crap out of it it seems to run better after that.

it all depends on mileage and how it was driven...the car "learns" your driving habits and adjusts accordingly. if the car has high mileage, then an ATF is overdue.

installed the NM poly inserts over the weekend, and man did that little thing address the lurching issue I had.

Downshifts are MUCH smoother than before. Well worth the money!
