R60 MINI Move Maps?
#2
Inquire with Gerry at bmwnavcodes@gmail.com He's known across the big Bimmer forums. Only the 2017 North American MOVE map was available at the time I asked in early Jan 2018. I'm trying to hold off as long as I can before updating the maps on my 2013 MINI. Google Maps and Waze on my phone works just fine.

So I broke down and decided to spend the $50 to update my maps from 2013 to 2018.
1) Emailed Gerry, and he replied within minutes.
2) Sent payment via PayPal, and within minutes, he sent the FSC code (activation code) and download link for the 2018 maps. Downloaded the files, unzipped them, and put them on a USB drive.
3) Inserted the USB drive into the USB slot in the glove box, and after several seconds, the system asked me to enter the activation code. Entered the code and then went on a 30 min drive. Radio continued to work the entire time. It took an additional 15 or so minutes after I had arrived at my destination for the update to complete. (You can view the update progress bar by selecting an option called "navigation update" in the nav settings. This option appears only when the system is actually being updated.) After the update finished, the system rebooted itself, and then I could see additional streets in my area that weren't there before. I also confirmed the update by viewing my "navigation version" in the settings.
Easy peasy!
