Back to a Mini Wastland

I have been spoiled the last two years here in Wi the dealer was 5 blocks from work. (Maintenance & Extended Warrenty) now I am headed to the Cumberland valley and will once again be 2 to 3 hrs from a dealer.

So Lucy and I head out on an 838 mile road trip today through beautiful Milwaukee and Chicago. After spending the night in Northern Indiana we will tour Toledo, Cleveland! And Pittsburg Tomm. With leg stretches it should be about 15 hours of driving.

For the fun on it I roughed out the trip with Ethel using battery only. That means stopping every 18 miles to recharge 7.5 hrs. It would only take 15.2 days

When we were looking at a Mini, considered the model. But the daughter lives 1900 miles away, the aunt lives 650 miles from her, the boys and grandkids lives 400 miles from her and the trip back.

The idea of distance and the amount of charging .... it wouldn't be a vacation, it'd be more of selling the house and living on the road.

A 4,424,640 foot extension cord will let you do that without stopping!

I like that, driving through Chicago with all of the overhead electric for trains also gives ideas. At least we have powerful 3 cup BMW engine for backup.

Lucy has done well on the trip averaging 31 MPG on her first tank of gas. I am behind the storm coming through Chicago and into Northern Indiana. You just burn allot of washer fluid with the wet roads.
