Two questions

First question:
I have the 2014 Countryman and wanted to know if the armrest can be moved forward. It has the rail for the accessories and the owners manual shows a knob underneath, but cannot seem to locate it.

Second:
Are there RCA inputs on the back of the stereo in the countryman? I am going to add a small amp and small box in the back and trying to figure out the wiring for the amp.

Thanks in advance for everything

First Question: Nope, there is no knob nor movement for the stock armrest. It's bolted in.

Second Question: I doubt seriously there are RCA inputs, but for someone to answer they will need to know what stereo you have.

pinkah 11-02-2017 06:49 AM

Thanks SCF
The arm rest isn't a big deal, just like it a little further forward.

As far as the stereo
Not sure which model it is, but it doesn't have navigation.

For simple amp add on, take a look at Technic PNP website. He has harnesses available for a true plug n play solution. You could just tap into the wires without the harness, but that requires some digging. A few threads on this site show that process, although not sure about your car. The process is done at the amp connection rather than the radio outputs. I'm guessing you have the 674 HK option.

Thanks Minnie.the.Moocher. I will contact them about a harness and go that route.
That seems perfect for what I want to do. Much easier then the old school way I was used too.
Thanks again

I don't see the HK pillar tweeters.

pinkah 11-07-2017 06:35 AM

I realized I don't have the HK system after some digging. Going to have to go with adding the amp from scratch.

Take the last 7 digits of your vin, and input them at http://bimmer.work/

That will tell you exactly what your car came with from the factory.

Thanks so much SCF. That helped so much and gave me a ton of info I didn't have. Awesome

pinkah 11-10-2017 05:28 AM

It shows I have the Hk system and navigation, but I know I don’t have navigation.
Does that mean it was just an option for both of those?
i looked in the rear cargo and no amp to be found
This is what it shows I have:Mini Navigation SystemMini Navigationssystem6VCControl ComboxSteuerung Combox620Voice Input SystemSpracheingabesystem655Satellite RadioSatellitentuner674Hifi Loudspeaker System Harman Kardon

Sorry if I’m being redundant. Just want to find the easiest way to add a sub and/or new amp.
Thanks so much

scf 11-12-2017 12:25 AM

What's the last seven of your vin?

pinkah 11-12-2017 04:49 PM

Wt01115

scf 11-13-2017 06:51 AM

Interesting. Never had an issue where it was wrong.

scf 11-13-2017 06:53 AM

But it definitely shows both of those packages, yet you don't have it. Are you the original owner of the car?

pinkah 11-13-2017 08:01 AM

SCF,
Im not the original owner. I bought it a few weeks ago and it was a one owner leased vehicle from Florida. Bought it from CarMax in Savannah
Doesn't look like there were any mods done to it and no changes to the stereo from what I can tell.

Minnie.the.Moocher 11-13-2017 08:12 AM

I'd go back to CarMax and let them explain why things aren't matching up. I'd also check VIN numbers to see if the engine matches. Maybe someone rebuilt this car. Seems very odd.

pinkah 11-13-2017 08:18 AM

The carfax report showed no rebuilds or anything like that.
Where are the VIN numbers on the engine?

pinkah 11-13-2017 08:22 AM

Let me go and check the VIN on the car. I looked at CarMax website and it shows the last of the vin as WT01152.

pinkah 11-13-2017 08:27 AM

The correct VIN is WT01152, not 115 like in my original post

pinkah 11-13-2017 08:30 AM

SCF
That is what it was. I had the wrong VIN number written down and didn't check it.
So sorry for the confusion and not sure why I wrote the number down wrong in the first place

scf 11-13-2017 08:36 AM

LOL

AH HA!!

A P.I.C.N.I.C. problem. :)

Yup, now it makes sense.

pinkah 11-13-2017 08:38 AM

haha, after my Freudian slip for the day. I guess I need to search and find out how to add an amp from the rear. Pretty sure I have to dismantle a lot of the interior.
Thanks SCF, really appreciate checking it out for me
