iJDMtoy DRL install on base CM with no factory fogs
Hello All!
I just wanted to submit this thread after a successful installation last Saturday. I wasn't able to find anyone that has installed these specific DRL's as they appear to be fairly new on the market. Hopefully this will help someone out, $160 for these vs $400 for OEM! I was able to successfully use portions of this video for installing the factory DRL's: This wiring guide to find the ACC cable in the cabin, its the Gray pin 12 not the purple pin 12: http://www.minicooperklub.cz/navody/...NI_LED_DRL.pdf Purchased these from iJDMtoy: http://store.ijdmtoy.com/MINI-Cooper...s-p/70-797.htm Since my car didn't have factory fogs, I needed to purchase 2 of the mounting brackets from my local dealership. Part number: 63129807305. You can also purchase them from ECS: https://www.ecstuning.com/Mini-2013-...16A/ES2136774/ All in all I am very happy with the result and cost savings vs the OEM version. My car didn't have fogs to begin with so I wasn't worried about that portion being functional (the fog portion still isn't functional). I was happily surprised with the build quality for the price. https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.nor...6cf0b54340.jpg https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.nor...f9c61e1199.jpg https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.nor...b1e35533ce.jpg |
Looks good and I'll really be impressed if you can figure out how to get the 'fog' portion of that light working too.
