Parking Brake Adjustment

I've searched all over NAM and the internet and can't find anything... Is the parking brake adjustable on the Countryman and how is it done? I hardly ever use it but when I did this weekend it came all the way up butting up against the armrest, I could have sworn it was lower the last time I used it.

Usually there's an adjustment at the rear wheels for the E brake but if you can't find it you can also take apart the center where the handle is and there's a spring you can tighten up

Thanks but I hoping for a more definitive answer on where exactly the adjustment is.

I am sure that you have sorted this by now but I came across this yesterday as my parking brake handle was pulling up into the center armrest as well. I found a video showing a tare-down of the center bar and I noticed that there is a nut for the adjustment facing the center rear seat. I was prepared to rip the whole thing apart to get to it but to my delight all I needed to do was pop off the cup holder trim (in the back) and that exposed a access hole to adjust the cable tensioner. You will need a 10mm deep socket with an extension to reach the nut.

My mini is a 2014 Countryman S with the 3 seater bench in the back.

I used a small flat head to lift the trim here and the whole trim piece including the lighter pop right up. A plastic trim tool would be a safer choice.

This is a picture of the hole which allows access to the adjustment nut. It is a 10mm nut.
