Argh

So I have a US Spec 2011 Mini Countryman s All4 and just recently I started hearing noise on acceleration. I have an extended warranty and take my car is for all oil changes roughly every 6months (full synthetic) and the German company told me that there is a bad bearing and the differential needs replaced at the tune of 2250 Euro. Then asked for my maintenance book, I never got the original mx book and was never told that all servicing had to be done by BMW tech so they don't want to cover the repair.
The car has 62330km = 38730 miles..... How much does the differential cost? What about carbon fiber?

Thanks in advance

What country are you in ? If you have a warranty issues with a US car and take it overseas you will have to talk to that countries dealership and local rep . Some people get things covered and some are null and void when taken out of the country.

I would contact that countries local MINI service rep.

Thanks for the information...
This is a US Spec Mini that was bought in Germany, many cars are bought here in Germany because of the large amount of military and DoD members stationed here. Luckily the extended warranty company decided to cover the maintenance. I had to argue that the servicing for the transmission is not even due yet, so the only thing that I need to pay for is the transmission fluid.
And I get free shipping to the states.... but BMW of US would not help because the car is in Germany and while in Germany I just get a 2yr/30K warranty but in the states its 4yr/50K and I would be covered. I was getting ready to ship it back and have mx done and leave it at my parents house since I'll be retiring in a few months.

Great , thanks for the update, Yep known about the BMW / MINI military thing for year. One of the few discounts you get to buy a MINI there under the military program.

Cool to drive in it Germany and then it gets to come to the states. :)

Glad you got things figured out.
