Has anyone replaced the mini fog light bulb for a LED-20150423_101059.jpg

Has anyone replaced the mini light bulbs for LED's. I believe the current bulb is a 12v 55W H3....Looking for a better sight as well as look to go with the mini driving lights...Thanks!

I've seen H3 LED bulb replacements, but in my experience none of them have come remotely close to the incandescent's light output and range. They'll have the look, but are not really functional. A simple bulb replacement just won't cut it if you're looking to still use them.

If you're looking to go LED though, the new LED driving lights are coming soon and will be retrofittable to those who already have driving lights.

I have converted the lower mini fogs over to the newer DRL and they look great.
Yes I was looking to go brighten as well as making the look, look similar to the LED DRL and Xenons. I had the mini fog lamps dismounted as I was re-doing some work on the grill....thought while i had them apart I'd see what's out there for LED's. I appreciate your time

The factory LED fog lights are pretty bright, as bright as any H3 incandescent bulb I would say and it match xenon lights nicely.

I hope I'm not confusing the different type of lights...The lights I'm referring to are the ones pictured in my first post. Bought separately through Mini and mounted on brackets attached through the grill... The daytime driving lights i've converted over to the newer Mini style LED's and look great.
This is the bulb that comes standard in the light and am looking to change the pair over to LED's if possible. Wondering if anyone has and if so...style & size ?

Yes, the factory LED lights are plenty bright, but the LEDs in those are integrated into an assembly and have their own heat sink and such surrounding it.

I meant to say that a straight bulb swap, while possible, would lead to disappointing results, especially when comparing them to a factory LED light.

I found these on eBay that would be cheap enough to try, I have similar ones as reverse lights, but they will not match the light output of the factory LED or incandescent lights.

Try them out - $20 for two isn't too bad of a hit and if you need something brighter, get the MINI factory LED driving lights when they come out.

The aftermarket H3 LED bulb will not be as bright as the halogen or the oem LED foglights. It might also trigger a bulb out warning as well unless you use resisters or error free bulb.

Thanks they are right here for the LED version>

If you already have the factory rally lights in halogen , its a direct swap for R56-R61.

For the old halogen bulbs: They take H3 Bulbs, We have Ziza options also in color bulbs. But no LED.

I ordered the LED version in black rally lights...I'm hoping to just be able to swap out the light housings... I already have the grill with brackets and the interior panel with switch.

I'm thinking these housings with the LED's will be a brighter/better look than just purchasing the super bright halogens ? ?

The LED driving lights look much better when you have Xenons/LED headlights!

How's the light output?

I have a 2011 R60..so have the adaptive Xenons...but have upgraded the lower fogs for the newer Mini DRL led's which look great as well.

Is there an upgrade for the headlights over to led's without swapping the whole housing ? I've actually looked into that as I like the newer blacked out look...but if memory serves me right...$800 and change per light plus the install...I'm almost at the point of no return anyways...

Is there no way to get just the bracket? Or is replacing the grille required?

Far as I know it comes as a kit...I eventually used another grill and just cut out openings for the brackets...but I used the brackets that came with the kit.

The new ones " X " version that come with the new LED kits ? No , not yet.

Just the light covers that come standard on the halogen.
