Battery Charge Level Low??

Does this mean I need a new battery?? I hooked up with battery tender a week ago and today the warning sign reappear.....
Does battery covered under warranty? Mine is 2011 with 72k km still under warranty.

If I replaced the battery myself do I need to get the battery registered/reset?

Please help

you might want to check if the battery is actually being charged...
i had issue a couple of months ago. the crankshaft damper belt broke and then when they fixed it. they noticed that the battery wasn't charging anymore...

In my last car (335i) I had an "Automatic" OBD-II sensor plugged in that over time caused the battery to drain to the level where it needed to be replaced. Do you have something plugged into your OBD-II port? If so that could be what is causing your battery to die.

What about an iPhone on the USB audio port? Does it cause power drain too? I thought it will stop charging as soon as you lock the car

I think I've seen a number of people on these forums leave devices plugged into the USB ports with no issue. As far as my 335i, even with the car off it still caused drain. With the BMW it would enter "Maintenance mode" when something was plugged in to the OBD-II port. So the car would never fully go to sleep.

I’ve had mine for 3.5 years. I do not leave the alarm on overnight (garaged) and I have an iPod Nano attached all the time to the USB audio port.

I recently came back from a 3 week holiday and noticed a labored start and the same warning message appeared, “Battery Charge Level Low.” I drove it for a couple of days and no issue until the same message appeared again. I took it into the dealer and they did their checks. No faults relating to low voltage was found. An energy diagnosis was done and it came back with a “Battery Aged Fault Code.” A “Midtronic test on battery” was done and failed. Dealer replaced battery under warranty.

Good to know this I will get the battery tested by the dealer when I get my engine mount replaced end of this month. Hopefully they will replaced the battery for me too under warranty
