New to Mini/North American Motoring

Evening all. My name is Jason, and I am new to the Mini family. My girl and I picked up a 2013 Royal Grey Countryman Cooper S (R60 from what I have been able to tell). We got it with the dual moon roof, Mini connected, and Mini Nav. So far so good (we just picked it up on 10 April 2013). Since she will be driving it, we went with the auto with the paddle shifters.

Myself I come from a long history of dealing with imports. I have been involved with import (sport compact) drag racing since 1996. I look forward to seeing what can be done with the car while keeping it still very street able and reliable.

First few mods are going to be most likely the NM cold air intake coming out next week for the 2013. It appears to be because there is an IAT (intake air temp sensor) on the tubo inlet pipe, that was not available previously on their kit. With the new version running the EFR tuebo, I am going to pick up a new BOV from Full-Race. My current street car (2011 Mazdaspeed 3) runs an EFR 7163. The kit was done completely by Full-Race for the car. I have even considered having Full-Race do the Mini for me, but I would rather have a tuning solution that I can flash like the AP from COBB.

Any questions or comments on anything let me know, I am all ears.

Welcome! Any cosmetic upgrades planned? My RG developed an allergy to chrome.

Yes I am going to black out the trim rings around the front/rear lights, as well as the trim around the upper grill. I am debating about either just sticking with the stock headlights and doing the HID kit or going with the Spec-D headlights that have projector in them and HID. Ordered the KSport coilovers already for it (I am a dealer for them), and I am going to look into going with either 18" or 19" wheels. I am going to pull the wheels/tires off this week so I can start to measure the hat depth, etc so I can do some Wilwood calipers and 2 piece rotors. I have my appointment set already for the tint of the windows.

Getting the rings done on Monday as well as the grill. Just ordered the JCW front lower spoiler. Tint will be done next Friday.
