Finally got the Plasti Dip correct on the side scuttles. Plus added the S white lens to tie it all together.
Still contemplating blacking out the Trim Line as I don't have that much patience. Also the headlight and rear lights trim. I do like the Mini Emblems with the Black wings. May find a local guy to do that for me.

MINI LED DRL look great. Very high contrast on the black out CM with a white top and white stripes. Very Nice combo.

Congrats.

Yesterday: Oil and automatic transmission fluid change at 28k miles. I know MINI states it is "lifetime" fluid but the manufacturer of the transmission recommends 30k fluid/60k fluid & filter. I'm going with that one.

Last week: Replaced the sunroof graphic as the "Blackjack" was turning red in the white stripes (2.5 years). Went to Sign-a-rama locally and had this one made. Cost about the same with install as the mass produced ones.

I'm surprised they don't recommend changing the filter out every time you change the fluid. That's the way I would do it anyway. What ATF did you use and how much did you require?

Had it done at the local BMW/MINI repair shop GS Tuning. It was $300 for the fluid change. To get to the filter would`'ve required removing the sump pan (and additional labor costs plus filter roughly $600). The fluid can be drained via a plug towards the rear of the tranny. They told me they drained it, filled it, ran it three times until clean fluid came out and topped it off. Really not a simple process worth the money to have a pro do it.

Just installed the Alta CAI and went for a boot. Incredible. I cannot believe how an intake alone can change the sound of not only the car, but the blow off valve. Its SO much fun. I think it is definitely more responsive as well.

2014 Maine Trip

Did not do it today, but just wound up my annual trip from FL to ME on Sunday. Drove from FL to Hershey Park, PA and stayed a day at the park. Drove from their to my Dad's in ME. Then, after about 8 days drove ME to CT. Stayed a day. Drove CT to VA. Stayed a day. Finished up by driving VA to FL. A bit over 4,000 miles.

Darth now has a bit over 25K miles in about 15 months! And, right after I got home my service due light came on. Guess it is time for another oil change, I think this will his third.

Was a fun trip. Had the Thule car carrier on top. At one point of all highway driving calculated mileage was about 32.4. Overall lifetime mileage is reading about 27.1mpg combined right now. Not bad, although if MPG was the only choice there are better choices out there, just not as fun choices.

19" 3SDM Wheels Re-Powder Coated and Hand Painted

Our Countryman got a little love today, we sent our 19" 3SDM's out for powder coat and just didn't love the look:

So it was back to the powder coat shop, a little hand painting and we came up with this:

A little Checkerboard love on the fenders and voila! What do you think?

3SDM 0.05
Say hello to the 0.05, a classic/retro design inspired by a rather timeless supercar.

We have tried to bring the classic old skool look to 2012 by keeping the somewhat hard lines and spec stamps to the face of the wheel. We know this wheel won't be everyone's cup of tea but we don't care, we absolutely love it!

Available colors: Silver/Cut, White, White/Cut and Matte Black.
Not all colors are available across all fitments/sizes.

Available in 16", 18" and 19" diameters. Call, PM or Email me for special pricing!

Sound

Going in for HK tweets and new speakers. First try at upgrading non HK. Will see sound guy says doesn't need amp but we'll see when he's done thinking amp and sup under the load flat floor. Also black jack int door handles and center console in looks great in the black knight.

Took MoonPie for an oil change at Otto's MINI. They also flushed the brake fluid, which saves me another 30-mile (20- traffic light) Saturday appointment in October.
